Sustainability at the Heart of Every Design
Material choice is an ethical decision. Every fabric is selected for its environmental footprint and its effect on the body. I prioritize biodegradable and non-toxic materials while also incorporating dead stock fabrics to extend life of existing resources and reduce waste.
Production is intentionally limited. Small-batch releases reduce waste and allow careful oversight at every stage. This pace preserves quality, accountability, and respect for both labor and resources.
A Journey of Intention
Each piece is handmade in small batches by a women-owned manufacturer. We produce slowly and intentionally. Our process supports ethical labor, reduces waste, and reflects our commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship.
Our Story
Charlotte Amelia began as a quiet question. What would clothing look like if it were created with patience, accountability, and care for everyone involved.
The acceleration of clothing production has come at a cost. Synthetic fabrics dominate the industry. Waterways are burdened with chemical runoff and microplastics. Speed is often prioritized over safety, dignity, and care for the people who make our clothes.
Charlotte Amelia has been five years in the making. During that time, I studied how industries shift environmental harm out of sight when oversight is limited. Fashion reflects this pattern clearly. Waste accumulates. Materials persist long after use. Labor is too often treated as expendable.
Charlotte Amelia was formed as a deliberate alternative to that cycle.
Excess fabric is repurposed to eliminate waste. A portion of garments are donated to women’s shelters. As the Charlotte Amelia grows, future profits will support educational and vocational initiatives.
Each piece is thoughtfully created with its entire life cycle in mind, from the source of its materials, through human craftsmanship, to its eventual return to the earth.
